Quincey Jones Jelly

This is the quince jelly I made with quinces from Mum and Dad's tree. It is incredibly sweet.

An apple a day...

My friend Ruth made me a spiced apple birthday cake! When it's done you pour maple syrup over it to make it even more amazing. It's made of fruit so it's HEALTHY. Totally fine to eat more than two pieces an hour.

I will stop posting now and learn to share.

Jewels of the Nile

Here are some jewels I have made recently. A 'royal' themed bracelet for my friend Sarah Puppy's 'Royal' hen weekend (made from one of my gran's old necklaces), a bracelet (maybe for my cousin), a pendant thing made of this childrens craft thing I love now and a necklace copied from one my friend has! Done.

BUN

Look what arrived in the post for me today..! An easter treat from the corn. Even after the year my granny has had, she has made saffron buns AND posted them to me! She is amazing and I am full.

Mothers Ruin

Stephanie made the most amazing gift at Christmas, sloe gin!
It was so tasty, in my flat it was enjoyed neat and within a number of cocktails. So many infact, that it lasted about a week.
I've only put a small photo here because I have have filled the bottle with water to give you an idea of how it would look filled with gin.
I am a skank I know. But really Steph, please send more.

Thrift Land

Imagine... big Topshop but it's ALL second hand. That is Thrift Town in 'Frisco. It was all at once the best day of my life and the worst. I was not in Redruth so could not fill my mum's car boot full of 1980s goodness. I had one suit case so was forced to be strict. I, therefore, only tried on about 15 leisure suits. My biggest regret will always be that the purple paisley shell suit (you can just see it in the last picture) did not fit me. I feel that would have defined the direction of my style for at least the next 10 years. So I left with a vintage bag, a shorts suit for And and a shirt for me... and a head full of dreams and happy memories.

Quilt: the totally tropical taste

Hanging out with my fam at the quilt exhibition. Bless up!

Sirius Jack and his bed.

The idea for this bed came from Flair's mum, who has apparently made these for Ben the dog. It is a single duvet ($5, op shop) with a pillowslip style cover made from a 50c piece of fabric (op shop) and part of a sheet ($1, op shop). Better than a $100+shop bought dog bed!. You fold the duvet into quarters and stitch it into place, then make a cover like a pillowslip. Sirius is growing so fast he no longer fits into his laundry basket bed. As you can see he has a cosy spot in the laundry next to where the hot air comes out of the freezer. That tartan scrap is his cuddly which was rubbed all over his mum and brothers before he left home! The other picture is what happened when I tried to take a photo of him having a tug of war with a huge bunch of bananas. He has learned how to 'sit', now we are working on 'stay'.
