Spent more than one night in Rome. I love it (even though I secretly wanted to think it was 'okay' just to annoy my mum and dad). It was my dad's 60th birthday part way through the week. I could show you over 100 photos of marble (all of which I think are really amazing and interesting) but I won't. I can actually make this kind of craft (and, more importantly, clothes and food) related. First, tapestries in the Vatican Museum:
They have a team that do all the restorations on site - I have now decided that is my dream job.
There was a lot of knitted 'graffiti' in Rome, here is some:
The one on the bottom right is crocheted (I hope you can imagine my excitement)!
I went in to an amazing handcrafted leather bag shop. They had vintage handbags displayed all over the walls...
(And, I took the carpet bags one for you - look at that huge one on the left!!)
This ice cream (one of the 10 / day I was eating - I ate a 'super cornetto' in the airport before I left on Saturday morning) is the reason I had to eat crisps for tea on the first night. The straw that broke the fat camel's back...
Isn't that one of the most beautiful pictures you have ever seen? I made an effort to match my accessories to my snacks each day. The first photo is at my favourite visitors spot (San Clemente), I was trying to take an 'underground photo' which failed but I thought Rose might like my new sandals (they are exactly the same as the sandals I had when I was about 5 yet somehow I look like an old woman in them - they are amazing) x
Hi Flegg I love your blog post and the sandals and everything look amazing. Glad you had a great time, will see you soon! x
ReplyDeleteLoved every addition!! Especially the carpet bags!!! As I'm pushed for storage space, I wonder if I could get away with hanging my bags on my walls? xx
ReplyDeleteI LOVE ROME! Thanks for that Flair it made me feel very jealous. San Clemente is awesome and the sandals are wicked. Bellissima!
